The Streamable, Cord Cutter News, and a bunch of other news outlets covered this news on their websites.
But here’s the simple breakdown for easy understanding……
What’s happening?
- Big Media Team=Up: Disney, FOX, and Warner Bros. Discovery want to make a new streaming service just for sports.
- Competition Worries: Competitors like Fubo TV and even some US Representatives are worried this new service might make watching sports more expensive for everyone.
- Lawsuit and Letter: Fubo TV has already sued to try and stop it. US Representatives are now asking the three companies tough questions about their plans.
Why does this matter?
- Price Gouging Concern: The worry is that if these big companies work together, they could drive up prices since there will be less competition.
- Changing TV Landscape: This could be a big change in how we watch sports. Instead of needing cable TV with lots of channels you don’t want, you could potentially just pay for this one sports streaming service.
- Government Watching Closely: The government (the Representatives and the Department of Justice) are paying attention and might intervene if they think this deal is bad for consumers.
It’s too early to say if this new sports streaming service is a good or bad idea.
The government is investigating to make sure it won’t make watching your favorite teams too expensive.
Let us know in the comment below what you think…
If the price is reasonable, this could be HUGE for sports fans tired of expensive cable packages.

This kind of consolidation is awful for consumer choice. Pretty soon we’ll have three or four companies controlling all our entertainment.
yeah, what these big guys are doing is pretty shit.If they success doing this, we will stuck paying the last penny from our pocket.
Remember when we all thought streaming would be cheaper than cable? This just adds another must-have subscription on top – it never ends!
History tells us that when a few companies control everything, consumers are the ones who lose.
