How To Mirror iPad Screen To LG TV? A Step-by-Step Guide

Recently, I faced a challenge while trying to share my vacation photos with a friend.

I wanted to mirror my iPad screen to his LG TV for an easier viewing experience.

However, I encountered some issues during the process.

Despite my iPad recognizing the LG TV, the media wouldn’t cast.

After some trial and error, I discovered the correct approach and decided to share this guide to help others avoid the same frustration.

Method 1) Using AirPlay to Mirror Your iPad Screen

For those with LG TV models released after 2018, AirPlay 2 is a convenient built-in feature that enables wireless streaming from your iPad.

With this, you can easily mirror your iPad screen to your LG Smart TV.

Here’s how to use it:

1. Open the Control Center on your iPad by swiping down from the top-right corner or up from the bottom on older models.
2. Locate and tap the Screen Mirroring icon.
3. Select your LG TV from the list of available devices.
4. If prompted, enter the AirPlay passcode displayed on the TV screen.

After a moment, your iPad screen will be mirrored on the LG TV.

You can now browse through apps, photos, videos, or any other content on your iPad, and it will be displayed on the TV.

Note: Ensure both your iPad and LG TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Otherwise, it will not work.

Method 2) Using Chromecast for Non-AirPlay Compatible TVs

New LG TVs will come with Chromecast built in.

During the LG press conference at CES, Google VP of engineering Erik Kay took the stage to announce that LG TVs released in 2024 will now come with Chromecast.

That means you’ll be able to cast videos, music, games, and more from your phone to your TV.

Follow these steps:

1. Download the Google Home app from the App Store.
2. Connect both your iPad and LG TV to the same Wi-Fi network.
3. Set up the Google Home app as per the on-screen instructions.
4. Open the app you wish to cast and tap the cast icon at the top right.
5. Select your LG TV from the available devices.

Your iPad screen should now be mirrored on the LG TV.

Nothing worked, any alternative?

If your LG TV do not support Air-play or it do not have this casting feature, you can still mirror your iPad to the TV by using some third part apps.

Some apps i recommend are:

1) LetsView

This app is available on different platform including iOS, Android, Windows, macOS (offers flexibility across devices)

So how to use LetsView App?

Simply, download and install LetsView on both your iPad and LG TV (available on app stores and their website).

Then connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi network.

Once you are done doing this, open LetsView on both devices and follow the simple pairing instructions.

To use this app, first download and install the AirBeamTV app for LG from the App Store.

Then connect your iPad and LG TV to the same Wi-Fi network.

Finally, launch AirBeamTV on your iPad and follow the on-screen prompts to connect to your LG TV.
